In a media interview, OIC general manager Engr. Edgar Calasara said that the daily water production of MIWD has declined by more or less 1,000 cubic meters of water. From 30,000 cubic meters a day, it dropped to between 28,000 cubic meters to 29,000 cubic meters.
Inevitably, the MIWD has to resort to scheduling the delivery of water to consumers in specific time and place. Here's the schedule.
MIWD Water Supply Schedule
MIWD is sourcing its water supply from Maasin dam and six pumping stations or deep wells in in San Miguel, Oton and other areas.
The water district has also contracted with bulk water suppliers Flo Water Resources Iloilo, Inc. and Prime Water Ventures, Inc. to provide additional 25,000 cubic meters of water daily through injection points, but MIWD's pipes can only accommodate 15,000 cubic meters of water daily.
