Mayor Go highlights San Enrique's gains in 2nd SOMA

SAN ENRIQUE, Iloilo - Mayor Ramona Palabrica-Go reported to her constituents the accomplishments of her administration in a State of Municipality Address (SOMA) on Tuesday, September 15.



In her speech entitled "Stewards of Public Trust" delivered at San Enrique Municipal Gym, Go highlighted the 'transformation' of San Enrique in its economic, socio-cultural and political life.

The retired Philippine Army general trumpeted the town's gains in her 2 years of office in areas of fiscal policy and management, agriculture and food security, education, health and well-being, social services, crisis mitigation and disaster preparedness, livelihood assistance, sports and youth development, infrastructure, peace and order, and grassroots empowerment.

Some of the recognition the town received during her watch:

• 3rd Most Outstanding Municipality on Tax Records Management in Iloilo
• One of most supportive municipalities in the implementation of the Real Property Tax Amnesty Program
• One of the most active implementers of the Tax Information Education Communication Campaign
• Top 6 in Child Immunization, Top 8 on Measles Rubella and Oral Polio Vaccine implementation
• Agri-Pinoy Rice Achievers Awards for 2014 awardee
• Overall champion during 3rd Response Olympic on disaster preparedness

"We have achieved in part what we have promised to do for San Enrique," Mayor Go beamed. "Three years is not enough to completely reverse the situation of town that needed not only major repair, but also complete overhaul."



She then enjoined San Enriquenhons "not to lose these gains but rather preserve them. Le us guard them from those who malign our honest efforts and mislead our people."

The event also featured induction and oathtaking of organizations BCAP, ASOFEBO, ERPAT, and SEYA of San Enrique.

Mayor Go's 2nd SOMA was attended by Rep. Pablo Roces Nava III of Append partylist, 4th District Rep. Hernan Biron Jr., Provincial Administrator Raul Banias, Gen. Danilo Lim of RAM, Ms. Risa Hontiveros, town officials, students, indigenous people, barangay officials, members of the press, and the people of San Enrique.
