“I’m glad to know that this year, we were able to gather more than 30 teams from different categories. I can’t wait to witness how they’ll play the game. I believe that more than their job, they deserve to have some time for sports. This will help them improve their physical and technical skills. This will also give them the chance to meet new people and friends. The city government will continue promoting sports program like this,” Espinosa stressed.
City Sports Division Officer-in-Charge Moises Salomon, said the tournament has four categories which are Inter-Agency, Inter-District Barangay Official, Open, and 40-Up.
“We didn’t expect to bring together a large number of participants this year. It only shows that members of different sectors continue to support us so we are inviting everyone to join us this Sunday. After the ceremony, we’ll start with the first set of game. We assure you that the game will be more exciting this time,” Salomon added.
For Inter-Agency Category, Bracket A is composed of Iloilo City Government, Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Philippine Coast Guard, and Developmental Bank of the Philippines (DBP). Bracket B includes S.W.A.T., Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Department of Education (Dep Ed), and Government Service Insurance System (GSIS).
Bracket A for 40-up Category are Iloilo Tuesday Club, Kris DB Deocampo, Iloilo City Government, Duterte Starr and UK Sports while Bracket B are Legends, NBI, CPU Agahan, MASA, and Double J Builders.
Inter-District Barangay Official Category is composed of Arevalo, City Proper, Jaro, La Paz, Lapuz, Mandurriao and Molo Districts.
