Deputy presidential spokeswoman Abigail Valte announced the appointment, adding that Gengos replaced Gerard Mosquera who was selected as Deputy Ombudsman for Luzon.
The 52-year-old Gengos obtained his Political Science degree from University of the Philippines and his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Iloilo. He used to serve as councilor of Iloilo City and was an associate of the Treñas Law Office.
Gengos joined other PCGG commissioners Richard Amurao, Ma. Ngina Teresa Chan-Gonzaga and Nelson Acebo, with Andres Bautista as chairman.
