The tropical storm enter Philippine Area of Responsibility on Sunday, but it went northwestward without making a landfall in the country. The Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) of the US Department of Defense has already classified Florita as a super typhoon as it goes to Japan.

While Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) did not issue any public storm warning in the province, the heavy rains and thunderstorms caused flooding in the some areas in the city.
As of 12 noon, the following areas were flooded:
- Tanza Bonifacio and Tanza Timawa
- Front of Lapaz market area
- John B Lacson Molo area
- Molo Plaza
- Gen. Luna, PNB and Atrium area
- Mabini and Quezon streets
- Tanza area
- Iloilo Mission Hospital area
