Dinagyang Festival is at the international stage once again as Philippines' bet for Mister International wore an Ati warrior-inspired costume in the competition.

The country's representative Police Officer Neil Perez (real name: Mariano Perez Flormata Jr.) placed third in the National Costume preliminary competition held in Seoul, South Korea on Friday. His costume was designed by Edwin Uy.

"I was inspired by the Dinagyang Festival. I wanted something a little bit smashy," Uy said.

Mister Bahamas Kenneth Kerr won the Best in National Costume award, while Mister Indonesia Kevin Hendrawan won 2nd place.

Mister International is an annual male beauty pageant founded in 2006 by the Mister International Organization which also organizes the annual Mister Singapore pageant.

Perez is competing against 43 other contestants from around the world. In the awards night, winners will decided based on swimwear and evening wear competitions, and the final interview portion.
