DPWH Regional Office VI, together with the Unified Project Management Office (UPMO) and the planning engineers from the District Engineering Offices recently had a coordination meeting with CCCC Highway Consultants, Co. Ltd., a state-owned company in China, held at the Regional Office in Iloilo City.
The meeting focused on the features of the proposed Iloilo-Guimaras-Negros Bridge, where the said Chinese company is conducting a feasibility study.
OIC-Assistant Regional Director Jose Al V. Fruto and OIC-Chief of Planning and Design Division Engr. Marilou G. Zamora welcomed the guests from the said company and various national government agencies such as the Department of Tourism (DOT) represented by Regional Director Helen J. Catalbas, Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA), Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), Environmental Management Bureau (EMB), Provincial Environment Office (PEO) and various Local Government Unit (LGU) representatives from Iloilo, Negros and Guimaras.
The said meeting is part of the series of meetings being conducted between CCCC Highway Consultants, Co. Ltd. with DPWH and other agencies concerned to provide countermeasures should challenges arise on the proposed bridge project. (DPWH6)
