Iloilo City government marked another milestone when it signed a memorandum of agreement with the Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT), the University of the Philippines Open University and the Department of Education for the implementation of PLDT’s InfoTeach Outreach Program.

“I am optimistic this partnership will be a big help to our public school students and teachers in our aim to be more digitally literate and better improve the quality of education here,” Mayor Jed Patrick E. Mabilog said.

PLDT’s InfoTeach Outreach is a merging of advocacies – with PLDT, DepEd, UPOU, Intel and Philippine Community eCenter Program, joining hands to reach more schools, teachers, and students to improve digital literacy in the country.

It aims to empower public high school students and teachers by upgrading their cyber-technology skills through Internet use and basic IT education.
