Ilonggo athletes got gold medals in Arnis, Karatedo, Taekwondo and Pencak Silat. “The winning results only show that we have good athletes and sports programs here in the city,” said Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog.
Crystal AJ Bartonico defeated her opponent in anyo individual event single weapon, anyo individual and team event double identical weapon, anyo individual and team event sword and dagger and anyo team event single+D25 weapon girls.
Maria Chabelita Gonzaludo also took home gold medals in anyo team event single+D25 weapon, anyo team event double identical weapon, anyo team event sword and dagger and full contact-pin weight girls.
Marjolene Pudadera got gold in anyo event single+D25 weapon and anyo team event sword and dagger girls.
Meanwhile the triplets John Carlo, John Clark and John Christian Seguitier got gold in anyo team event single weapon, anyo team event sword and dagger and anyo team event double identical weapon and pencak silat regu.
John Clark and John Christian harvested gold medal in pencak silat Ganda, while John Carl got golds in pencak silat class: 43- 46 kg and tunggal.William Lanabe got gold in Karatedo boys kumite - 63kg and Cara Nicole in taekwondo girls bantamweight division.
The silver medalists were Jefferson Luna in arnis anyo individual event single weapon, John Carl Segutier in arnis anyo individual event double identical weapon, Christian Jay Offala in karatedo boys kumite-49 kg. and Adriano Horlador in taekwondo pin weight division.
The bronze medalists were John Carl Segutier in arnis anyo individual event sword and dagger- boys, John Christian Segutier in arnis full-contact bantamweight-boys, Patrick Lyll Leocario in arnis full contact featherweight boys, Gc Marc Sontillosa in karatedo kumite boys-40 kg., John Christian Segutier pencak silat class C:40-43 kg. boys, John Niño Gayoso and Kimberly Solocasa in table tennis mixed doubles and Czarylle Edwardine Dinero taekwondo girls-lightweight division.
The athletes will then participate in the forthcoming Batang Pinoy National Finals in Bacolod City on Nov.ember 19-23, said Rommel Castro, chief of Iloilo City sports development division.
