The city government honored three Ilonggo wushu gold medalists in the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Myanmar December 11–22.

Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog gave certificates of appreciation and cash incentives to Francisco Solis of Brgy. North Baluarte, Molo district; and Dembert Arcita and James Aligaga, both of San Miguel town.

“We are honored that we have Ilonggo gold medalists. We hope for more Ilonggos to excel in sports,” Mabilog said.

The city mayor vowed to support more Ilonggo athletes in future competitions.

The Philippines finished the SEA Games in seventh place, with gold-silver-bronze medal finish of 29-34-38. It is the worst performance of the country in 36 years.
