“We have passed a resolution requesting the City Council to hold a special session at 10:00 a.m. on Friday so we can declare a State of Imminent Danger for Iloilo City,” Mabilog said.
The declaration would enable the city to release funds needed for various activities before, during and after the calamity.
It would also give authority to the local chief executive to suspend classes and work on Saturday, Dec. 6, to guarantee the safety of city residents.
The Bureau of Fire Protection together with the Iloilo City Police Office will go around the barangays to implement
pre-emptive evacuation of residents in coastal barangays and low-lying areas.

The City Social Welfare and Development Office assured there are enoughrelief goods while the City Health Office guaranteed substantial medicines for emergency use.
Mabilog also asked other national government agencies, private agencies,civic groups and non-government organizations to help and support the City Government in ensuring the life and safety of the people.
