The fourteen events of the finals are arnis, archery, athletics, swimming, basketball 3 on 3, badminton, table tennis, boxing, karatedo, taekwondo, chess, wushu and triathlon.
In a meeting conducted at the City Administrator's office November 13, City Administrator Norlito Bautista announced the delegations coming to Iloilo City are National Capital Region (Metro Manila cities), Northern Luzon (Regions I-III & Cordillera Autonomous Region), Southern Luzon (Regions IV-A, IV-B and V), Mindanao (Regions IX-XII, Caraga and ARMM) and Visayas (Regions VI-VIII).
Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog has created through executive fiat committees that will look after the smooth conduct of the youth games, especially those that will deal on security, billeting and other facilities for the athletes.
Mayor Jed said he expects more than 2,000 athletes, coaches and officials to converge in Iloilo City before the finals begin in December 5.
The games will be held at the Iloilo Sports Complex (for archery, athletics, swimming and basketball), the WVCST Covered Gym (for arnis), ISC Covered Gym (for chess, badminton and table tennis), La Paz Tennis Court (for lawn tennis), La Paz Covered Gym (for boxing), INHS Covered Gym (for wushu), Jaro Plaza Covered Gym (for karatedo) and WIT New Site Covered Gym (for taekwondo).
Iloilo Province is the co-host of Philippine Youth Games-Batang Pinoy 2012.
