Tech4ED is designed to harness the power of ICT to empower and transform societies. To achieve the desired progress, the project provides for a platform where marginalized communities can get education, gain employment, start their own businesses and be competitive.
“Through Tech4ED, our pilot teen centers will have access to internet. It will increase their connectivity to transform the lives, not only of the students, but the whole community,” explained Salvacion Sibonga of the Iloilo Information and Communications Technology Management Office.
Under the agreement, the teen centers will allocate a corner dedicated to the project where computers will be deployed and additional staff to manage its operation. They will also be provided with additional computers and WiFi access to jumpstart the services of Tech4ED.
The services of the project are open to the public. This means that it will also cater the needs of out of school youth, cooperatives, agribusiness, food processors, and even to overseas Filipino workers. [via PNA | Photo by Tech4Ed Centers]
